Florida Rivers

The exception to the rule is the St. Johns, Withlacoochee and Wekiva Rivers that do the opposite. The moderately level geography means water flow is mainly slow.Thursday, July 29, 2010.
As with most places rain and surfaced water shifts across the countryside emptying to canals to form an interlinking set of waterways, streams and rivers, just as it is throughout Florida. The width of these goes from a couple of feet to a few miles. They are made of fresh water and their flow shapes indents in the ground to help sustain much of the wildlife by carrying water to various places. These waterways move fundamental life giving stuffs straight to water-land environments. It benefits the assorted throng of indigenous species who require it.
Every year multitudes of nature enthusiasts travel the rivers and streams to see Florida's resident creatures. A major cause for the incredible variety is Florida's leisurely water flow. This environmental aspect makes the land a hospitable place for a wide range of small water creatures. These smaller animals are usually at the start of the eating sequence and become the breakfast, lunch and dinner of the surrounding larger marine creatures. If you have a varied amount of smaller organisms it enables the survival of many larger ones.
Myakka River
This expanse of water is traveled often and isn't more than 2 miles in length. It's a great attraction because the river stream constantly bends so that view always looks different. Interestingly some areas of the river become so thin that it's impossible to twist your floating device but in contrast it can widen and become swampy. Huge trees and loads of similar vegetation grow on the sides. The tide is very easy going and the color of the water is dark.
The Chassahowitzka River
This river is a wonderful place to fully enjoy yourself. Actually, this part of the state is largely unknown to many.
